Sensory Integration and the Child - (2005 updated edition) A. Jean Ayres Ph.D., OTR.  Originally written in 1979 for families and teachers by the theoretician and therapist who formulated sensory integration theory and therapy.  This new edition has been revised to add current thinking and examples.
The Connected Child: Bring Hope and Healing to your Adoptive Family - (2007) Karyn B. Purvis, Ph.D, David R. Cross, Ph.D, and Wendy Lyons Sunshine.  This book is written for parents who have welcomed children from other countries and cultures or from troubled backgrounds with special behavioral or emotional needs.  It incorporates attachment issues with an understanding of sensory and other developmental differences.
Raising a Sensory Smart Child - (2005) Lidndsey Biel, MA, OTR/L and Nancy Peske.  This book is co-authored by a pediatric occupational therapist and a parent of a child with sensory integration issues. This book combines an understanding of sensory needs with practical strategies and resources to support those differing needs.
The Out-of-Sync Child - (1998) Carol Stock Kranowitz, M.A.
Recognizing & Coping with Sensory Integration Dysfunction
Written by a former preschool teacher with a special background in movement education, this highly acclaimed book describes how problems processing touch-pressure and movement stimuli affect a child's performance in school and at home; includes detailed checklists and resources.
